Sunshine, tea and cake in the garden. Sounds like the perfect afternoon. And it was.
Some of our special volunteers joined us in celebrating “Volunteers Week” at the new Loveworks Garden Project this afternoon, and were served delicious homemade cakes with tea, as a way of thanking them for the time they give in helping our community.
Laura, our Garden Project co-ordinator, even made a cake using Rhubarb grown on our very own allotment.
And it was the perfect afternoon – with bright sunshine streaming down and lots of lively chatter among the raised beds, festooned with bright bunting fluttering in the breeze.
Join Laura on Fridays or send her an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in helping growing vegetables for our food banks and cafe.
Special thanks to our marvellous Volunteers Co-ordinator, Millie Gonsalves, for arranging such a special afternoon. The volunteers left feeling loved and appreciated – and a couple of pounds heavier after all that delicious cake!
