When you give up something for Lent such as chocolate, crisps, alcohol, sugar you are doing two things over the 40 days. Challenging yourself and saving money! This year you could use the money you save to help local families in need.
Between 26th Feb and 9th April, we are encouraging our supporters to give something up for lent, and use the money they save to donate to Loveworks. If you donate money it will all go to buying food but we are also keen to encourage donations of key items for our food bank, and each week we will be promoting specific items for people to donate.
With the current and ever growing Coronavirus situation Loveworks are expecting a massive strain on our food bank resources, including families who will struggle with an extended school break and the many people who will be self isolating without the means to stock up on food.
Although we will always accept food donations, cash donations are more critical to us than ever. It allows us to buy exactly what we need and also puts less strain on our busy logistics team who collect from our donation stations. Please spare whatever you can Cash Donations
